Delaware County sits in the northeast corner of Oklahoma along the Arkansas state line, with Jay serving as the county seat. The county is part of the 13th Judicial District, and its court system is built around the Delaware County District Court — which holds general jurisdiction over major civil and criminal matters — alongside several municipal courts operating in communities including Bernice, Colcord, Grove, Jay, and West Siloam Springs. All court records generated through these courts are maintained by the Delaware County Court Clerk’s Office and are broadly accessible under Oklahoma’s public records laws.
Researchers looking for court case information in Oklahoma have several channels available, including in-person requests at the courthouse, public access terminals, and online search tools maintained by the state judiciary. OklahomaCourts.us can help users navigate the available resources for locating publicly available court case information across the state, including records from Delaware County. The Oklahoma State Courts Network (OSCN) and the On Demand Court Records (ODCR) system are the two primary platforms for online searches.

This system covers docket information for Delaware County’s District Court and provides access to filings, judgments, and case histories for participating courts statewide.
- On Demand Court Records (ODCR) — The ODCR system provides free, unlimited public record searching across participating Oklahoma courts. Users can search by name or case number at no cost; online payments for court costs on specific cases are also available through the platform.

Staff are available to assist with locating files but are prohibited from giving legal advice. Mail requests should be directed to the Court Clerk at P.O. Box 407, Jay, OK 74346, with the case number or party name and applicable fees for copies. Copying fees are $1.00 for the first page and $0.50 for each subsequent page, with certification of each instrument costing $0.50 and authentication of a court record costing $5.00 under the Oklahoma uniform fee schedule.
Are Court Records Public in Delaware County?
Oklahoma law establishes a strong presumption in favor of public access to court records. Title 51, Sections 24A.1 through 24A.33 of the Oklahoma Statutes — the Oklahoma Open Records Act — guarantees the public’s right to inspect and copy government records, including court records, with limited exceptions. That right can be overridden where disclosure would violate confidentiality protections, privacy rights, or specific state interests established by law.
Records that are not subject to routine public access include:
- Juvenile proceedings and records
- Adoption case files
- Sealed records and expunged cases
- Records involving minors as victims or witnesses in criminal cases
- Confidential settlement information
- Mental health proceeding records
- Certain domestic relations records sealed by court order
- Records containing protected personal identifying information
Segregable portions of partially exempt records must still be disclosed after redaction of the exempt material. Requesters who believe records have been improperly withheld may pursue remedies under the Oklahoma Open Records Act or through the courts.
The Court Clerk also maintains the fee and bond schedules published by the OSCN, which govern what the clerk may charge for record duplication and related services.
